All Elite Four Teams & How to Beat Them in Pokemon Let’s Go

Recommended Videos

The Elite Four still stands as one of the toughest challenges in any Pokemon game. After clearing all eight gyms, it’s time to test your mettle against these battle-hardened trainers. If you’re having trouble, here’s how to beat the Elite Four in Pokemon Let’s Go.

While they’re known as the Elite Four, you’ll actually have to defeat five trainers. The last person is considered the champion of the League, but you’ll be dethroning them soon enough. Before anything else, it’s important to note that you will be fighting all of them consecutively, meaning you can’t stop by a center to heal your Pokemon between battles.

That said, it’s important to stock up on healing supplies before challenging the Elite Four in Pokemon Let’s Go. Bring tons of potions, revives, and status ailment cures to keep your Pokemon in top shape after each battle. Moreover, make sure to level up your team a bit if they feel a bit weak. They should be good to go if they’re around the mid-50s or higher.

As with all of the other gym leaders in Pokemon Let’s Go, the Elite Four also follow a certain theme when it comes to their team, save for the champion:

  • Lorelei uses Ice-types
  • Bruno uses fighting-types
  • Agatha uses Ghost and Poison-types
  • Lance uses Dragon-types

How to Beat Lorelei

Lorelei is the queen of Ice-types and will freeze your team without a second thought. Let’s take a look at her full team:

  • Dewgong (Lv. 51)
  • Jynx (Lv. 51)
  • Cloyster Lv. 51)
  • Slowbro (Lv. 51)
  • Lapras (Lv. 52)

For the most part, she has one of the most straightforward teams in the Elite Four. You can easily counter most of her Pokemon with an Electric-type, such as your Pikachu or even a Jolteon.

Make sure to hit fast and hard, as you will lose a turn if she freezes your Pokemon. Luckily, Electric-types usually excel in speed, so you shouldn’t have too much trouble taking her down in Pokemon Let’s Go.

How to Beat Bruno

Bruno’s team hits hard with physical Fighting-type attacks in Pokemon Let’s Go. Here’s his full team line-up:

  • Onix (Lv. 52)
  • Hitmonlee (Lv. 52)
  • Hitmonchan (Lv. 52)
  • Poliwrath (Lv. 52)
  • Machamp (Lv. 53)

One way to deal with these Fighting-type Pokemon is by bringing either a Flying or a Psychic-type in your group. An Alakazam or an Exeggutor can make quick work of the four Fighting-types and even the Onix if their Special Attack stat is high enough.

Ideally, your Exeggutor will also know some Grass-type moves to deal with that Onix as well. It’s either that or you can bring along a ‘mon that knows a Water or Grass-type moves to take it down quickly in Pokemon Let’s Go.

How to Beat Agatha

Agatha likes to shake things up by juggling two elemental types in her party. Here’s her full team line-up in Pokemon Let’s Go.

  • Arbok (Lv. 53)
  • Gengar (Lv. 53)
  • Golbat (Lv. 53)
  • Weezing (Lv. 53)
  • Gengar (Lv. 54)

Agatha is one of the trickier fights in the Elite Four, but you can counter her team with a strong Psychic-type. If you brought one along for the fight against Bruno, you can use it again in this fight in Pokemon Let’s Go.

Just take note that an Exeggutor might have some trouble facing against her Golbat and Arbok with their poison. An Alakazam or even a Hypno is definitely a solid pick when fighting this Elite Four member.

How to Beat Lance

The last core member of the Elite Four specializes in Dragon-type Pokemon. Take a look at his full team line-up below:

  • Seadra (Lv. 54)
  • Aerodactyl (Lv. 54)
  • Gyarados (Lv. 54)
  • Charizard (Lv. 54)
  • Dragonite (Lv. 55)

This Elite Four member’s team can plow through yours with an assortment of high-damage attacks regardless of your mon’s type. One good strategy is using the same Electric-type you used against Lorelei since Charizard, Gyarados, Aerodactyl, and Seadra are all weak to electricity.

Dragonite, on the other hand, is a tanky ‘mon that’s weak to Ice, Dragon, Fairy, and Rock types. Make sure to bring a ‘mon that knows at least one of those elemental moves when facing against this Elite Four member in Pokemon Let’s Go.

How to Beat the Champion

Now that you’ve made it this far, you’ll have to face the toughest trainer in all of Kanto. Take a look at his full team line-up in Pokemon Let’s Go:

  • Pidgeot (Lv. 56) [evolves into Mega Pidgeot]
  • Vileplume (Lv. 56)
  • Marowak (Lv. 56)
  • Rapidash (Lv. 56)
  • Slowbro (Lv. 56)
  • Jolteon (Lv. 57) [if playing Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu]
  • Raichu (Lv. 57) [if playing Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee]

Before fighting the Elite Four champion, make sure to place your tankiest ‘mon at the front of your team. Mega Pidgeot is extremely agile and will likely make the first move, hence why you want a ‘mon that can soak up the damage.

As far as team compositions go, you can use your Psychic and Electric-type to take down Vileplume, Mega Pidgeot, and Slowbro. If you brought a Water-type to deal with Bruno’s Onix, it’ll work just as well against Marowak and Rapidash. Just make sure to bring a Ground-type ‘mon, such as a Golem, in your team to deal with the Jolteon or Raichu.
